Morgan Scott serves as Vice President, Sustainability & Global Outreach, and Chief Sustainability Officer at EPRI. In this role, she leads efforts to elevate EPRI’s visibility among key industry stakeholders and advance its public benefit mission. Scott oversees EPRI’s External Communications, Media Relations, Government & External Relations, Creative Services, and Digital Marketing, while providing thought leadership and strategic direction for EPRI’s Sustainability research portfolio.
Previously, Scott was the Director of Climate READi (REsilience and ADaptation initiative) and Sustainability & Ecosystem Stewardship at EPRI. She led the three-year Climate READi initiative, which developed a comprehensive industry approach to physical climate risk assessment and mitigation. Additionally, she directed research teams focused on Ecosystem Risk and Resilience, Endangered and Protected Species, and Strategic Sustainability Science.
Scott has been instrumental in advancing EPRI’s sustainability research portfolio, creating tools to help electric power companies enhance sustainability programs, adopt a triple bottom line approach, and support sustainable communities. In 2021, she launched the Equitable Decarbonization Initiative, promoting research and dialogue on decarbonization through an equity-focused lens. Her contributions also include projects on Climate Scenario Analysis, SMARTargets™, and Indoor Agriculture. Scott has authored numerous EPRI reports on sustainability priorities and metrics and co-edited Sustainable Electricity II: A Conversation on Tradeoffs (2019).
Before joining EPRI, Scott was the Sustainability Manager at Consolidated Edison Company of New York, where she managed the company’s sustainability strategy and initiatives, including the production of the annual sustainability report and voluntary disclosure activities. Her earlier roles at Consolidated Edison included positions of increasing responsibility in Supply Chain, Customer Experience, Energy Management, and Environment, Health & Safety.
Scott holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Wagner College and an M.S. in Sustainability Management from Columbia University
